Stratos Renewables Corp. (SRNW.OB) - $2 Billion to be Injected into Peruvian Ethanol Production

Monday, March 24th, 2008

Increased demand for ethanol production in Peru has drawn attention from Pablo Bustamante, president of the Peruvian Association of Sugar and Biofuel Producers. Bustamante recently announced that $2 billion could be invested in Peruvian ethanol production this year.

“The sugar industry will meet the country’s demand by next year and therefore, thanks to ethanol, it is expected to double, triple or increase five times the size of this powerful industry, especially in the northern provinces in terms of social impact,” Bustamante said in a statement.

While Peru is not yet in full swing production of ethanol, the Peruvian association has requested that ethanol be included in the Agrarian Promotion Law in order to put it in the same regulations bracket as sugar production. If this goes into effect, a 15 percent tax would be paid on ethanol, without higher risk to sugar companies that have other important investments, Bustamante stated.

“The sugar industry is still recovering from the past years’ disaster and there are many aspects to improve, there is a lot to do, I think this decision is quite simple and we can’t wait to see results,” he said.

Stratos Renewables Corp. (OTCBB: SRNW) is one such company rising to meet ethanol demand. Based out of California, Stratos has operations in Peru to produce sugarcane-based ethanol. Stratos is a developmental stage energy company engaged in the production, processing and distribution of sugarcane ethanol in Peru.

Stratos Renewables Corp. (SRNW.OB) Highlights Sweet Advantages of Sugarcane over Corn

Tuesday, March 18th, 2008

Speaking to a crowd in Terre Haute, Indiana, earlier this week, presidential hopeful, Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.), addressed the issues surrounding the race for the most promising alternative energy.

“Corn-based ethanol is not optimal. I’ve been a big supporter of corn-based ethanol. I come from a corn state — Illinois — and it’s a good transitional technology, but the truth is, it is not as efficient as what the Brazilians are doing with sugar cane,” he stated.

Ethanol derived from corn and sugarcane may be in the spotlight for political wrangling, but the companies behind the technologies are hard at work every day to produce a cost efficient and clean burning fuel.

Stratos Renewables Corp. (OTCBB: SRNW) operates a sugarcane-based ethanol facility in Peru, neighbor to Brazil, the largest producer of sugarcane in the world. The company was founded on the advantages of sugarcane ethanol over corn and other alternatives. Ethanol from sugar is less expensive than corn, burns more cleanly and exerts more energy per equivalent unit.

Additionally, sugarcane contains the highest starch content of any other plant stock, yielding nearly three times that of corn. Sugarcane also trumps corn with its availability for year-round harvesting. Producing sugarcane-based ethanol in Peru allows the company to sidestep seasonal restraints, such as those found in Brazil, allowing for year-round production.

Stratos Renewables Corp. (SRNW.OB) Reports New President and Secretary

Monday, March 17th, 2008

Last week, Stratos Renewables announced that Steve Magami, Chairman of the Board, would be taking over the role of president for the company. This came after news that the previous president, Luis Humberto, had stepped down from his position for personal reasons and not as a result of conflict with the company. Stratos also replaced Secretary Gustavo Goyzueta with Valerie Broadbent after Goyzueta turned in his resignation.

Magami has considerable experience, both in renewable energy and high profile financial management. His previous occupations include private equity management, investment banking, and C-Level executive management. Magami also sits as president of Pure Bio Fuels Corp., a successful Latin American biodiesel company. Before that, he was CSO of a leading American biofuels company. His extensive knowledge surrounding business strategy, core business development and acquisitions will greatly benefit Stratos and prepare the company for significant, planned growth. His financial experience will enable Stratos to gain additional financing to see the company through its initial growing pains.

The company recently finished expanding its current production facilities to increase capacity, and intends to continue expansion through various other, carefully planned growth and acquisition strategies, leading to the ultimate goal of Stratos as a low-cost, global ethanol supplier.

Stratos Renewables Corp. is a Peruvian based sugarcane ethanol producer, vested in the certainty that it can produce the highest yields of ethanol at the lowest cost worldwide within the northern coast of Peru. The company is currently completing a planned expansion of its existing facility, and has initiated a multi-phase growth strategy to become the leading producer of ethanol in Peru.

Stratos Renewables Corp. (SRNW.OB) Plans to Further Success with Three Steps

Wednesday, March 12th, 2008

According to Stratos Renewables Corp. (OTCBB: SRNW), U.S. energy policies will create a market for up to seven billion gallons of renewable fuel by 2012. In the upcoming years, many countries including Brazil, Peru and Canada will mandate that gasoline contain a certain percentage of ethanol.

Blending mandates are enforced as part of the global effort to produce cleaner burning fuels while creating new agricultural markets. Focused on becoming a leader in Latin America’s growing renewable energy market, Stratos operates the Estrella del Norte sugar cane production facility in Peru.

In three strategic steps, Stratos intends on leaving its footprint in the renewable energy market. Stratos has already commenced stage one, in which it will acquire land for the development of sugarcane plantations, complete facility expansion and acquire existing sugarcane plantations.

Step two includes plans for a long-term lease agreement for an additional 20,000 hectares of coastal land for additional plantations, sugar mills, distilleries and infrastructure, expected to boost sugarcane ethanol production to 80 MMgy of capacity.

After the execution of the first two stages, Stratos anticipates the acquisition of about 25,000 hectors of coastal land green-field land for sugarcane cultivation and planting, as well as existing plantations and mills. This phase will bring sugarcane ethanol production to 150 MMgy of capacity.

Stratos Renewables Corp. (SRNW.OB) is Positioned Well as the World Demands Renewable Energy

Friday, March 7th, 2008

This week, representatives of more than 100 countries met to discuss energy alternatives at the three-day Washington International Renewable Energy Conference (WIREC 2008), which ended with a pledge to promote renewable energy.

President George W. Bush addressed the audience of nearly 6,000 on Wednesday, explaining the Unites States’ plan to reduce oil dependency in America. “America has got to change its habits. We’ve got to get off oil. Dependency on oil presents a real challenge to our economy,” President Bush stated.

He noted that in 1985 only 20% of America’s oil supply came from overseas. Today that number nears 60%, challenging the national security of the U.S.

The meeting resulted in the inception of the Washington International Action Program (WIAP). At the conference’s end on Thursday, more than 100 pledges were established to increase renewable energy use. WIREC 2008 will continue to accept pledges from organizations of every caliber for the WIAP until April 4, 2008. Renewable Energy Policy Network for the 21st Century (REN 21) will be monitoring pledge implementation and will provide period reports.

As more people, organizations, firms, companies and countries become entwined with the search for alternative energy sources, companies such as Stratos Renewables Corp. (OTCBB: SRNW) may find their developments at the center of attention. With operations in Peru, Stratos engages in the production, processing and distribution of sugarcane ethanol. Sugar-based ethanol is growing in popularity as a leading clean burning energy alternative, fueled by its heavy supply and low-cost conversion methods.
